Titan advertises itself as the Hedge Fund for the individual investor. This certainly sounds like an intriguing approach to portfolio management. So, our writers here at Wealthplicity took a deep dive into what makes Titan a unique approach to investing, who it’s best for, and how much money you can make using it in our 2021 Titan Invest Review.
Relatively new, and still kind of unknown, Titan was founded in 2018 by ex-hedge fund managers. Titan is a robo advisor, similar to Betterment or Wealthfront but takes an active, approach to managing a stock portfolio. Unlike Betterment or Wealthfront, Titan’s portfolios are not ETF’s, but rather a portfolio comprised of 15-25 stocks.
Titan acts like a hedge fund, in that it provides in-depth fundamental research approach to its stock selection. They are highly selective about their stocks, and look for companies with “durable competitive advantages, strong growth prospects, excellent leadership teams, and attractive valuations. The portfolio results in 15-25 long positions with a hedge included based on a client’s risk tolerance, which aims to reduce market exposure during downturns.
Titan is not a self-managed portfolio. This means, that the investor has limited investment choice beyond the portfolio selection. There isn’t a feature that allows an investor to trade stocks or buy bonds. This is truly a robo advisor but run like a hedge fund.
Though Titan is a hands-off investing platform, that may be a good thing. Titan’s Flagship portfolio is clearly outperforming its competitors (more on that below). For those investors who are looking for a set-it and forget-it approach to investing with high returns over the next several years, Titan could be an exciting option.
Titan is hedge fund for individual investors. It is a robo advisor that takes an active approach in managing portfolios. A simple and straight-forward platform that has boasted outstanding returns since it was founded in 2018.

At Wealthplicity, we rate and rank our investment apps based upon the most important criteria to the customer. We look to keep this criterion consistent across all reviews but may adjust upon industry or offerings.
Titan could be a great option for beginning investors. People who are ready to take a leap into the investing world, understand their financial goals, and their risk profile could realize a good amount of success using Titan.
It is a completely hands-off investing platform, but unlike a lot of A.I. driven robo advisors, Titan’s portfolios are actively managed by ex-hedge fund managers.
Titan is purposely limited in its features and offerings, so if you are looking to diversify your portfolio through other sectors or take an active role in managing your investments, please see some of our most recent reviews below.
I appreciate Titan’s straight forward fee structure. For Accounts over $10,000, there is a 1% annual fee. For any account under $10,000, it is $5 per month.
There is no performance fee, meaning that the managers of Titan’s portfolios will not take a fee based on commissions, as a financial advisor would
Titan offers three different portfolios that an investor would have access to based on their qualifications such as total capital or risk tolerance.
No accreditation needed. United States only. Minimum investment of $100
Titan is managed on a mobile app. I found the set-up to be clean and hassle free. They have stringent security policies in place to ensure that you are who you say you are.
Since there are not a lot of features to Titan’s product, there isn’t a lot of room to be confused. You can see how your portfolio is performing, the holdings of each portfolio, and manage your money with the simple click of a button.
Titan is not shy of boasting on their returns over the past several years. The performance of their Flagship portfolio has done outstanding in comparison of their competitors and the S&P 500. Their Flagship portfolio has an annualized return of 22.4% and a cumulative return of 97.1% since its inception in 2018. And with results like these, it’s no wonder they have it posted on every page:
Titan may be a lesser known investing platform but with its ease of use, and more importantly outstanding returns, they are quickly becoming a rising star when it comes to individual investing.
